About the OK Dollar

OK Dollar is mobile payment wallet that lets you do fast money transfers, get deals and do payments on the go. You can also recharge Mobile numbers of all the Telecom operators & DTH, buy movie tickets and even share the bill in a restaurant. OK Dollar has integrated the option to pay the corporation taxes, electricity bills as well where the users have to enter the unique Customer Identfication number. The application fetches the data and show it to the user where they will be able to pay the pending bills.

It also offers payment to the merchants having the OK Dollar QR code, the money will be deducted from the user’s wallet to the merchant’s wallet instantaneously. We have added the features where the user will be able to transfer the money in the Ok Dollar wallet to third party Bank’s payment wallet. The improved UI gives a better user experience to do the transactions.

This policy explains how we collect, use, hold your personal information, as well as ensuring the quality, integrity and security of your personal information under applicable regulations and laws.

What is personal information

Personal information includes any information or opinion, about an identified individual or an individual who can be reasonably identified from that information. The information or opinion will still be personal information whether it is true or not and regardless of whether we have kept a record of it.

For easy and fast payment processes, in the application we shall ask for contact permission and those contacts are primarily used to make a mobile to mobile wallet payment.

We store these contact list details in user's local database and that is not shared with any other apps in the smartphone,third party remote server or any storage locations thus it completely safeguards the users personal data and is not used for any other commercial gains. Further we may upload these contact list to our remote server as well for security enhancement and analytics within the OK Dollar system. The Analytics is to check if the user is misusing any of our services to do financial frauds or laundering etc since it’s a payment wallet system.

Some examples of personal information may include your:

  • Name
  • Mailing or street address details;
  • Personal contact details such as personal Telephone numbers, email address or social media platform username used to create the account in the OK Dollar.
  • Government-issued identifiers such as National Registration Card (NRC) Number, driver license number or Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) entered at the time of registration in OK Dollar.
  • Bank account number and credit card number used to do the transactions in the OK Dollar. The credit card number is stored to track back the transaction in case of any dispute or the payment failure. We do not store the Transaction PIN or CVV(CVC) or One Time Password.
  • Photograph, video or audio recording for different services in the OK Dollar; and sensitive information such as information relating to your health, biometric data, criminal history, racial or ethnic origin.

App permissions

To make easy payments and use services of OK Dollar, Users are asked for below permissions.

  • Contact
    Ok Dollar asks for Contacts Permission to collect and store contact information to evaluate risk for making fast and secure payments to Shopkeepers, Merchants, Bank Accounts, and wallets. This data verification is based on the mandate from the Central bank of Myanmar to ensure the transactions are safe.
  • Storage & Camera
    To scan QR code from gallery and save the payment receipts, OK Dollar asks for storage and camera permission. It is also required for KYC (Know Your Customer) verification like Passport and NRC documents, and to attach photo during requesting money and Tax payments. For ensuring the security of the account, as per the mandate from Central Bank of Myanmar, we also take users’ photo and upload to our server during account registration and other applicable transactions.
  • Phone
    For the security of users’ account, Ok Dollar requires Read phone state Permission. This is to keep Ok Dollar account safe and avoid frauds to use Ok Dollar account in different device without Account Verification.
  • Location
    OK Dollar provides features based on user location and show Merchants and Agents as per their current location for users’ convenience. Users can add money to their wallet or withdraw cash from agents and can pay to Merchants having OK Dollar QR code. OK Dollar needs users’ location Permission for the above reasons.
  • Overlay permission
    OK Dollar needs Overlay permission to show the alert whenever users request for Cash In and Out, even if the application is running in the background.
  • Microphone
    OK Dollar needs Microphone permission to enable the feature of search by audio.

How do we hold and protect your personal information?

Much of the information we hold about you will be stored electronically. We store some of your information in secure data centre that are located in Yangon, Myanmar. We also store information in other data centres or data centres of our contracted service providers (including cloud storage providers), and some of these data centres may be located outside Myanmar in Asia Pacific region. Some information we hold about you will be stored in paper files.

We use a range of physical, electronic and other security measures to protect the security, confidentiality and integrity of the personal information we hold both in Myanmar and overseas. For example:

  • access to our information systems is controlled through identity and access management controls;
  • employees and our contracted service providers are bound by internal information security requirements and are required to keep information secure;
  • all employees are required to complete training about privacy and information security; and
  • we regularly monitor and review our compliance with industry best practices.

How to delete account?

To delete OK Dollar account, you should contact customer care through Email Id : customercare@okdollar.com.

Direct deletion of the account by the customer can't be allowed as per the instructions from the Central Bank of Myanmar, which is the governing body for non-banking finance entities.
